Final Blog Post

Coming into this course I had little to know experience with Photoshop and Illustrator.  After this course, I feel that i have a much better handle on the basic techniques in both of these programs.  This course has helped me to be more computer saavy for sure.  I enjoyed being able to work with the waacom tablet and learning how to make other materials not on the computer, like the book for instance.  I am very excited to keep continuing to learn different techniques with these softwares.

How To Book

For my How To book i decided to just do a How To tie a fishing knot.  The idea i had before this was very complex, and by doing knots, it would allow me to provide drawings done by hand and scanned in.  Since the How To book was mostly images, I found a few books from the library that were informational books on techiniques for fishing.  I took some images of charts and diagrams from these books and put them into my How to Book.  Also, i put in some text to go along with the How To images of tieing a knot.  Overall i was pretty happy with how my final product turned out.  An example of the type of drawings that i used is above.

How To Book

For my How To book, i am wanting to do a book on how to catch a big fish.  I am wanting the focus of my book to be illustrations.  My plan for this is to make the line drawings i want for the book out of pen and ink, scan them into in design, and then after i have printed my copies i will go in and add quick color markings with marker.
I am hoping that the illustrations will speak for themselves thus limiting the ammount of text i will have to provide for the book.  But that will just make the font that i choose more important.
I want to incorporate other materials into the book such as fishing maps, artifcial baits etc. I just have not yet decided how exactly i want to do that.
